far in mist a tower waits, like a merciless tomb
devouring the moonlight
His eyes flicked open as they were greeted with blinding white. Picking himself up from the bed he was given, he glanced over to the corner of the room, where a single dark robe hung from the back of a chair. Throwing the garment on, he took in the room. Almost everything was some shade of white. Everything except for his new robes, and for an old weapon that he remembered was his. He had found it after he awoke to his new self. He grabbed the lance, and walked out into the dark hallway. Deciding to head right, he eventually makes his way into a larger room that overlooked a vast city. The sky was a deep black, almost entirely devoid of anything. Only the few stars that seemed to shine through the darkness maintained the fact that it was indeed the sky. The city below appeared to shimmer as if in defiance to the dark sky above. All of this held his attention for a moment as he tried to recall his own name. It was... Xegdral now. Now? Had it always been so? It was hard to recall many details, but he slowly began to realize something else. That he was not alone in this room. He turned and saw a figure sitting on a white couch.

XegdralI WALK A LONELY ROAD, THE ONLY ONE THAT I HAVE EVER KNOWN. DON'T KNOW WHERE IT GOES, BUT IT'S HOME TO ME, AND I WALK ALONE. I WALK THIS EMPTY STREET, ON THE BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS. WHERE THE CITY SLEEPS, AND I'M THE ONLY ONE AND I WALK ALONE. MY SHADOW'S THE ONLY ONE THAT WALKS BESIDE ME. MY SHALLOW HEART'S THE ONLY THING THAT'S BEATING. SOMETIMES I WISH SOMEONE OUT THERE WILL FIND ME, 'TIL THEN I WALK ALONE. | [attr="class","narnia"]Sitting? Well, more like Laying. Alyxx was a rather laid back character. Whenever he could, he would take time to simply lay back and relax. Sadly, this wasn't the time for him to sleep or hang out. He was supposed to take out the new kid to get a feel of his movements and personality. It was mainly for delegation purposes, but Alyxx wasn't above getting information on each of his underlings. It gave him advantages that they themselves didn't have over him. Whether they thought they knew him or not, Alyxx was not one to show his true nature. He was calm, chill, and only looked for positively perfect loyalty. Not that this kid would be loyal to him, but if he did become loyal, Alyxx would rather deal with someone who would follow his every command with pleasure, rather then having to force someone into submission. That took a lot more time and honestly, Alyxx didn't care to bored over such trivial situations.
It took a couple moments for the new nobody to notice him. It was fine, in his zombie-like state, it was completely natural. This process happened to all of them at one point or another. But he didn't respond right away. In fact his eyes were closed completely as if he were napping, or at least dozing. But it didn't matter. Whether his eyes were open or closed. He couldn't see out of them anyway. He, instead, used very soft humming to view the room. Almost like echo-location, but much less obvious.
"Are you nervous Xegdral?" He asked to cut through the silence, but he didn't open his eyes to acknowledge the presence of the younger boy. He wasn't trying to ignore the other Nobody. He was simply comfortable and didn't want to get up yet. |

"No." He replied, taking a few moments to mull over the meaning of the question. He hasn't felt anything since he woke up. Examining the figure laying on the couch, he couldn't get a read on the figure's intentions. His remained blank, giving nothing to work with. He tried to remember something that would assist in this unknown situation, but all he could recall was the fighting. Creatures of pure blackness with pale yellow eyes. Other images would flash across his vision, but those beasts kept breaking through his train of thought. Turning fully towards the figure on the couch, Xegdral kept his lance at his side. Choosing to simply hold it in one hand, he felt something tug at the edge of his mind. He couldn't quite name it, but he knew its intention; to fight. Ignoring the pressing call, he simply awaited the next development from this figure.

The silence afterward was enough to make Alyxx chuckle softly and he sat himself up in the couch. When he opened his eyes they didn't look at Xegdral, in fact they didn't look at anything. One was black, and the other was red, but they didn't look at anything. He seemed to gaze off into some far away dream. However, if there were anyone who would decide to underestimate this man, they would soon find themselves dropped in a ditch with their head cut off or eyes gouged out. Alyxx was a very patient person, but there was no way he took kindly to those who would take him for granted, unless he wanted them to. There was an act of course. For him it was always an act.
"Good." He said and stood up to begin walking out of the room. "Follow me please, we are going to go see how well you stand in a battle. I am assuming you remember how to do that, especially with the way that you hold your lance there. I would suspect that you knew how to use it once? Perhaps you could show me a few moves outside?"
He gestured at the boy to follow him through a different door. Alyxx was going to lead him out into a white courtyard where it would be easy for them both to move around with out breaking anything or hurting anyone else who may want to pass by them. "Don't worry about perfection or style. This isn't a test, I'm simply learning your stats so we can figure out your element and your place in the organization. No big deal."
There was a long silence as they walked down the hall before Alyxx spoke again. "Oh yes, and my name is Alyxx. I am the Second-in-command of the Organization. You may call me Alyxx if you wish, I care not." |

Alyxx. The name rolled around in his mind as they walked through the darkness and silence. Alyxx had mentioned an element and place. Figuring out what place he would have as the easy part. The comment about the element seemed to stump him, however. This most likely had something to do with how they fought, since it was to be tested in the heat of combat. Out of the jumbled mess of memories that kept seeping into his brain, the most vivid ones were of combat. Sometimes with a sword, and sometimes with the lance. He remembered other things from time to time. A street, the moon, the smell of blood, the color green. All of it swirled together into a jumbled mess of images that seemingly had no relevance. Yet it was becoming somewhat easier to sort through everything. As the rhythm of their footsteps echoed through the halls, Xegdral was able to remember a particular scene in great detail. There was a city, not unlike the one Xegdral saw outside the window, bathed in green. A creature seemingly composed of the shadows themselves manifested, eyes shining a bright yellow in the darkness before him. He couldn't get away in time as the creature suddenly leaped into the air, spinning like a top, before suddenly crashing down with its foot. It knocked him down, before diving into the ground, vanishing in a puddle of the same darkness. Suddenly springing up from underneath, hitting him square in the chest. It stole his heart. He watched his heart vanish with the creature. Rolling on his back, he saw the last thing he remembered before... waking again. The full moon over his head, and a sky bathed in green.

SOMETIMES I WISH SOMEONE OUT THERE WILL FIND ME, 'TIL THEN I WALK ALONE. | [attr="class","narnia"]There was silence from the subject. Alyxx may not be able to see him, but he could definitely sense him. Xegdral was very quite. Once again, to be expected, as this was the "Who am I" period that all Nobodies went through. Even he had gone through it. This was the worst part of being a Nobody. The constant lack of emotions mixed with the occasional flashes of vision that seemed to plague the mind. Those flashes were of no use to him and he merely saw them as a set back and a pain to deal with, but they were nothing more then flies on his window sill now.
He let the boy have his time of silence to prepare his mind as they made their way to the small clearing.
"Xegdral." He said calmly, hoping to snap him out of his daze with a single word rather then having to yell at him to get his attention. If that were required then he would have to question his boss's thoughts on why this boy was part of the organization.
"If you would please give me your attention, we can get started with the assessment." |

Walking through the corridor, lost in his thoughts, he was snapped to attention when he heard his name. Taking the courtyard into his attention, he noticed it was a wide area, with an open sky. The courtyard was still made out of that same material that the entire building seemed to be constructed from, with the occasional black design throughout. He snaps his head back to Alyxx when he said, "If you would please give me your attention, we can get started with the assessment." He pushed the images from his mind and focused the best he could on Alyxx, standing at attention.
